MMP TriMed's
Compliance
Program evolves
to always
stay current

Efficient StaffMMP TriMed endorses and fosters a "culture of compliance" in all phases of the company’s operations. MMP TriMed aggressively pursues the full patient care reimbursement to which clients are legally and ethically entitled, and does so in a manner that fully complies with both the letter and the spirit of all applicable regulations and guidelines.

MMP TriMed’s program has been designed and implemented keeping in mind such guidelines as the "Compliance Program Guidance for Third Party Medical Billing Companies" as issued by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), relevant Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS formerly HCFA) guidelines and regulations, and similar documentary instructions. As such guidelines evolve and new ones emerge MMP TriMed’s Compliance Program also evolves to always stay current. MMP TriMed’s Compliance Officer and designated staff members regularly participate in symposia and seminars on compliance matters in order to stay abreast of developments and interpretations.

MMP TriMed’s clients are secure in the knowledge that the Compliance Program, the overall culture of compliance, and the company’s Code of Conduct - which follows OIG guidelines - are in place and continually followed.

Some specific compliance program elements
that MMP TriMed clients can expect are
:
Routine correspondence and newsletters that keep physicians informed of relevant OIG, DHHS, and CMS guidelines and regulations.

Specific education in the high-risk areas such as coding, appropriate documentation and dictation guidelines.

Staff training that meets OIG guidance and an internal education program that tracks continuing education per job classification and documents competency for each position.

Internal controls that regularly measure and record quality throughout the billing process, especially in critical operations such as coding.

An internal peer review program designed to verify compliance, adherence to MMP TriMed’s Code of Conduct, and adherence to corporate policies and procedures.

An external review, contracted by legal counsel, to verify overall corporate compliance with relevant billing regulations.

A corporate compliance manual and compliance policies is updated and distributed annually to employees, clients and relevant vendors.
